Nordic
Big White has 25 kilometers of combined Nordic and Wilderness trails perfect for Canadian cross country skiing and snowshoeing. For daily grooming updates, check here. Big White offers all levels of cross country skiing, from beginner to advanced, creating the impeccable adventure for your skill level.
Free Mountain Tours
Snow Hosts will show you the best ski and snowboarding spots on Big White with a Complimentary Mountain Tour. This tour will open your eyes to the locals’ favourite ski and snowboard runs, providing you with the ins and outs of Big White Resort.
No need to book, just head to the meeting place at 10:15 to be placed into a group.
Meeting Place Snow Host Meeting Place sign is located in the Village Centre in front of Dizzy's Ski Shop across from the Village Centre Mall.
Dog Sled Tours
Experience the thrill of mushing through Big White’s famous back country as the enthusiastic and powerful Canadian Sled Dogs take you on an unforgettable winter excursion. Celebrating over 10 years at Big White, Candle Creek Kennels will begin with an orientation introducing you to the dogs, the sled and the process of harnessing before heading out on the trails, giving you extra dog sledding insight.
Snowshoeing
Rent your own snowshoes and choose your own adventure through our trails. Snowshoeing is a fantastic way to get out and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace. No previous experience is needed - if you can walk you can snowshoe! With an extensive trail network, get off the beaten track and explore the winter wonderland.
Tubing
The Tube Park has 5 specially-groomed lanes that allow thrill seekers to enjoy a high-speed ride down the slopes, even after the lifts close. Our new tube lift capacity accommodates up to 50 tube riders per hour to maximize your fun!
Ice Skating
Take a spin on your ice skates at Canada's highest outdoor skating rink, surrounded by the breathtaking view of snow-covered trees and picturesque mountains. Whether you are looking for leisurely ice skating with family and friends, or a friendly pickup hockey game with the locals, this world-class rink is for you.
All skate/stick/helmet rentals are one day only* and must be returned by 8:00pm at the latest. We currently do not have multi day rentals. Prices do not include tax and are subject to change without notice. A waiver needs to be signed by all persons wanting to rent skates, sticks or helmets. If you are 16 and under a Parent or Legal Guardian who is 16+ and over need to sign a waiver for you before you can rent skates.*
Fat Biking Trails
Don't want to give up biking for the winter? Bring your fat bike and explore Big White's backcountry terrain. Our designated fat bike trail - Trapping Meadows winds around our Nordic trail system in Happy Valley, making it a great day out.
How to Get There From the Village Centre - Fat Bikes are not allowed in Lara's Gondola. Please ride along the public road down towards Happy Valley, turn left into the parking lot and cross the bridge into the Happy Valley Adventure Centre, follow the Nordic Trail Signs. By Vehicle - Park in the Happy Valley Parking Lot, proceed to the Adventure Centre. By Vehicle – Park in the Black Forest Parking Lot, proceed to trail head (as marked).
