Snowshoeing is a great way to explore the trails in Fernie!

No special skills are required – just strap a pair of snowshoes on your boots and go for a walk!

Reach out to our Rental Shop to reserve your snowshoes. Guided tours are also available! Let one of our knowledgeable local guides take you on a late afternoon or early evening loop along Fernie Alpine Resort’s serene snowshoe trails, or join a group tour to take in breathtaking views of the Lizard Range.

Winter fat bikes are the newest way to explore Fernie in the winter! A “fat bike” is a version of a mountain bike, with wide tires which provide extra traction and stability in the snow. Fernie Alpine Resort now offers groomed trails, rental bikes, and programs for winter fat biking.

Silk/Manchuria Trails & Scandia Loop (nordic / multi-purpose trails): Approximately 10.9 km of widely groomed trails, that are also track set for classic cross country skiing. The trailhead is accessed by Parking Lot #4.

Scott fat bikes are available to rent. You can also enjoy evening fat biking tours or join a guided group tour, all led by our professional staff.

Come and discover the peace and tranquillity of our cross-country ski trails at Fernie Alpine Resort! Our trails are groomed and track-set, so they are great for classic and skate skiing. The trails are open and free for the public to use throughout the winter season (December – April, conditions permitting).

Cross-country ski rentals are available.

Also, experience the peaceful beauty of our Nordic trail system with a guided tour on Nordic Sundays. This package includes both a guided cross-country ski tour and rental equipment.

The Rail Park at Fernie Alpine Resort is the place to be!

Whether you’re progressing through a park for the first time, charging down the Ski Cross course or perfecting your rail game, this is one of the best spots on the Resort to check out. With over 25 features on a single run, there is a huge variety for all skill levels and very little space for boredom. Conveniently placed under the Deer Chair, it’s a great place to rip spring slush laps or spend all day progressing your skills.

New to Fernie Alpine Resort?  Or perhaps you’ve been here before but need a little refresher?  With 2500+ acres of terrain, 5 alpine bowls, 142 named runs and copious amounts of gladed areas, it might be hard to know where to start!

Join our Winter Sports School Pros for a complimentary 2-hour orientation of the mountain.  Our friendly Pros have expert knowledge of the mountain - all of its nooks and crannies, and the best places to go for amazing grooming and the deepest powder.

Dates:  Offered Daily starting on December 21, 2024. *Tours will also be offered on December 14 & 15, 2024.

Time:  Departs at 11:00 am.

Duration:  Approx. 2 hours.

Location:  Winter Sports School Meeting Place – Mountain Tours sign (besides the base of the Deer Chair).

Ability Levels:  Must be an intermediate skier/snowboarder to join these group tours.  Novice skiers / riders - please inquire about the availability of a lower mountain tour at the WSS Sales Desk (phone 250-423-2406).

Ages:  All ages are welcome - children must be accompanied by a parent.

Sleigh Rides operate daily at the following times:

On Dec. 24th there are 2 extra sleigh rides at 12 pm and 12:30pm

Set your preschooler up for a life-long love of the mountains with our Griz Kids ski/snowboard lesson and indoor play packages!

Our kids’ specific instructors will focus on fun, safety, and building skills to instill a passion for skiing and increase their confidence on the mountain. Our dedicated indoor Griz Kids team will make your kids holiday with fun activities galore.

Our Griz Kids Centre is in the Cornerstone building. Access from the plaza beside Slopeside Café or on-hill access from the Mighty Moose Area.

FBC's tasting room and store feature an airy space to enjoy sampling the Brewery's brands and to pick up products and merchandise. Outside, the patio space is very popular in the summer months and also offers puppy parking, where all the goodest dogs can hang out.
