Run Club

Join Fernie's running enthusiasts for a weekly run - make friends - discover trails - get your run on! The Stag Leap Run Club Facebook Group is a great way to discover the trails. The club caters to intermediate to advanced runners, with a couple of leaders to assist with a variety of speeds and needs. There's no charge to attend, but you do need to have a Fernie Trail Pass.

Drop in Curling

Drop-in nights at Fernie Curling Club is a great opportunity to try out this winter sport. Sessions are every Thursday from January 19 to March 23, 2023 and are open to the public. Come out and have some fun with friends while throwing some rocks. No experience is required. This is a great Canadian sport that is a must-try!

TC Energy Family Skate Day at Fernie Memorial Arena

A free event. Take a skate around the rink, enjoy hot chocolate and snacks, and connect with TC Energy representative about the West Path Delivery 2023 Elko Project. If you are in need of Ice Skates, they can be rented from Gearhub Adventure Sports Rental location at 1441 7th Avenue, Fernie, BC

Distillery Tours at Fernie Distillers

Tours are available every Saturday at 1pm and include a tasting. For groups of 15 or more, please contact the Distillery. Co-owner and head distiller Jillian Rutherford has an engineering background and is one of the few female distillers in Canada. She established Fernie Distillers in 2016 with husband Andrew and together they operate the artisan facility inspired by the history of Fernie.

Night Skiing on the Mighty Moose

Every Saturday: Jan 7 - March 25, 2023 and Nightly, Family Day Weekend: Feb 17 - 19, 2023

Lifts run 4pm - 9pm

No charge for those that already have a valid day ticket or season pass. The Mighty Moose is a surface Poma (tow) lift in the beginner terrain area by the village base.

For the Love of Winter Snowshoe Tour with Wild Nature Tours

Join your special someone to enjoy an evening of amour, chocolate and rosy cheeks. Price includes local naturalist guide, snowshoe rentals, chocolate fondue and hot mulled beverage.

Illuminated Cross-Country Skiing at Elk Valley Nordic Centre

The short loop near the warming hut is illuminated every Saturday from 6 - 8pm. The trail is beginner-friendly and is an easy winding trail through the trees. More advanced skiers can bring a headlamp to explore the wider trail system alongside Lizard Creek. Free for Nordic Society members, day ticket required for non-members.

Community Fun Nordic Race at Fernie Gilf Club

A fun day of racing for all skate and classic xc skiers of all ages, hosted by the Fernie Nordic Society. Don't let the 'R' word put you off. This is a fun day of racing for all skate and classic cross-country skiers of all ages at the beautiful Fernie Golf Club Trails. Skiers of all levels are invited to participate in this event. The overall theme will be FUN and CHEERS for all. Although this event has a four-letter word in its name, the Nordic Society wishes to welcome all participants of all abilities to the event, not just ‘racers.’

Earlybird registration is until Tuesday, February 14. The fee goes up by $5 on Wednesday, February 15. $15 for members until Feb 14/$20 from Feb 15 $20 for non-members until Feb 14/$25 from Feb 15 $10 for 12 and under until Feb 14/$15 from Feb 15
