This January, we have an exciting new contest for all you park rats!
We’re running a month-long video contest for you to show off your best tricks in our Rail Parks, there are multiple categories, weekly and grand prizes so no matter your skill level get out there, film a clip and send it our way for your chance to win!
Rules
Videos should be uploaded to Instagram, tagging us and using the Hashtag FARJanuaryJam. We will request separate submissions for best full video and best trick. You can submit both in one post, by labelling (slide 1 – best full video submission, slide 2 – best trick).
You can submit multiple different tricks and videos to increase your chances!
All categories excluding “Best Trick” are open to both individuals and groups of riders. So if you have a crew of friends, film each other and create a video together!
All footage must be filmed inside a Fernie Alpine Resort Rail Park, you can include B-Roll or mountain footage, but it will not be judged.
Categories & Judging Criteria
Weekly pick – Our favourite clip submitted that week, this is what got our staff stoked that week! (WEEKLY PICKS ARE CHOSEN ON THE FOLLOWING DATES: JAN 11, JAN 18, JAN 25, FEB 1ST)
Best Full Video – this is judged on various criteria including trick selection, trick difficulty & editing style. A full video submission should include multiple tricks. (A good-looking video gets more points! Practice on your video editing skills!).
Best Trick – Filming and editing quality doesn’t matter. This prize is for the single best trick (as our staff judged) on a rail park feature. (THIS MUST BE SUBMITTED AS A VIDEO OF A SINGLE TRICK)
Staff Pick – Purely subjective, this is the edit or trick that got us all the most stoked. Whether it’s someone overcoming their fear to hit their first feature with their friends and family cheering them on, a gorgeous new angle to film a 50-50 on that we’ve not seen in the park before, or simply a rad trick. Everyone has a chance to win this by giving it their all, no matter the skill or crew they ride with.
Prizing
Weekly pick prizes will be awarded each week.
Best Full Video, Best Trick and Staff Pick are awarded at the end of January.
