Mountain Biking

People don’t come to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to ride the same old thing. They come for the differences, and we have plenty. What this means is over 3,700 feet of variety!

The start of it is the view from the alpine launch which is dominated by the three mountain ranges that surround the park, and the wetlands of the Columbia Valley. From there it is all downhill where the wahoo factor is amplified by multiple berms, jumps, wooden features (Stickrock has to been ridden to be believed), rock slabs (look directly below the gondola to see the longest) and plenty of good ol’ white-knuckle singletrack. The only thing missing is crowds, but we suspect you won’t mind that.

Experienced and apprentice climbers alike will tackle Terminator Peak’s north face, choosing from routes of 3 varying lengths and degrees of exposure. Grizzly Bear Refuge

Meet Boo the Bear

One thing that sets Kicking Horse Mountain Resort apart from all other ski resorts is the Kicking Horse Grizzly Bear Refuge. The 20-acre area is the home of our resident grizzly bear, Boo. Boo hunts, plays, forages and explores within this natural mountainside habitat just like his wild cousins.

The interpretive centre is open daily during the summer and provides guests with the opportunity to observe an adult grizzly bear going about his daily routine. Everyone who comes to visit Boo is fascinated by his strength, agility, intelligence, and personality.

If you don’t see Boo during your initial visit, you can return for another FREE* tour. All of our visitors agree that sighting Boo the Grizzly Bear in his natural habitat is a truly unique experience and one they will never forget!

Kids Playground

A Family-oriented park offered for our community with brand new games. With Ladders, Bridges, Climbing walls & Slides, this park located in the parking lot in front of the main lodge is well worth checking out and a great place to make some new friends while having some outdoor active fun.

Disc Golf

Try out the 18-hole disc golf course at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort! The course overlooks the Columbia River Valley and Rocky Mountains and is now open for play. To access the course you just need to purchase a Grizzly Bear Refuge ticket, Adventure Pass ticket or use your Summer Seasons pass, and then ride the Catamount Chair to mid-station. The course features holes ranging from 47m (154ft) to 92m (302ft) and provides a fun introduction to the sport as well as a challenge for experienced players.
