Skiing & Snowboarding

Skiing on RED Mountain often marks a visitor's first experience with the Rossland area.

Brand-new terrain on Grey Mountain ringing in at nearly 1,000 acres. 22 new runs. A new lift installed. A new restaurant where you can, like, install a new ketchup stain on your $500 jacket… The expansion to Grey means more of everything you love, plus a massive increase in Intermediate terrain for families and mixed-skill groups. This recent expansion bumps the "local legend" into the Top 10 of all North American resorts in terms of terrain scale—while maintaining its position as #1 in pow aficionados' hearts.

Mt. Kirkup Cat Ski

Even hardcore office “dog persons” love cat skiing. Who wouldn’t? Hop in our Pisten Bully 200 snowcat’s spacious cabin and zig-zag your way up the flanks of rugged Mt. Kirkup. Fun, right? But the ride up is nothing compared to the whooping, laughing, tears-of-joy ride down as you fully immerse yourself in the powder that made us famous. All starting at just fifteen bucks a run with no reservations required.

The Mt Kirkup Cat operates every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm, weather permitting.

Pick up your pre-purchased Mt Kirkup Cat Ski Tickets at the RED Base Lodge Ticket Windows or Guest Services.

Fat Biking

Branded the bulkier cousin of summer and shoulder season MTB, fat biking has solidified its wide-load stance in the Rossland winter-biking scene.

Navigate a handful of packed and groomed fat bike friendly paths, chubby rubber tires welcome on several Rossland trails.

Rentals and gear are available in multiple locations along with lots of advice and info on what trails are good to ride at the moment. Check out the fat-bike grooming report before you hit the trails.

Snowshoeing

From mellow side-slopes to steep-and-challenging trails, snowshoeing isn’t the passive activity you think it is. Consider Strawberry Pass, a circuit of sixteen stylish, funky cabins with custom artwork.
