The Whistler Ski Resort is a popular ski destination located in the Coast Mountains of B.C. The resort was founded in the early 1960s and has since become a world-renowned destination for skiers and snowboarders. It offers over 200 runs,ranging from easy greens to challenging blacks, and has a skiable terrain of 8,171 acres. The resort is known for its impressive vertical drop of 1,530 meters and its varied terrain, which includes groomed runs, back country areas, and a terrain park. The Whistler Ski Resort has hosted a number of major ski events, including the 2010 Winter Olympics.
